Zaagwerk is a newly founded uptempo hardcore record label, created in collaboration with early hardcore DJ DJ Distortion and uptempo hardcore artist and label owner of Offensive Rage, Cryogenic. For this project, I designed the official logo that represents the identity, sound, and attitude of the label.

The name Zaagwerk originates from the term “zaag kicks,” a distinctive type of kick drum used within the uptempo hardcore scene. In Dutch, zaagwerk can be translated to “sawing work” or “sawcraft,” referencing both the aggressive, cutting sound of these kicks and the raw, industrial energy they bring to the music. This meaning is intentionally embedded in the visual identity of the logo.

The design focuses on hard, sharp, and uncompromising forms, reflecting the intensity of the genre and the precise, high-impact sound the label stands for. The logo is intentionally bold and minimal, making it instantly recognizable within the hardcore scene.

All logo variations were created fully in vector format, ensuring maximum flexibility and consistency. This makes the logo suitable for all forms of use and production, from digital platforms and vinyl releases to large-scale prints, merchandise, and event branding, without any loss of quality.
